Mike Monroe

Committee Member

Town of Wilton, Saratoga County

Mike has been employed by the Town of Wilton Highway Department since 2002, beginning as an MEO and advancing to Foreman before being elected Highway Superintendent in January 2022. Now in his second term, Mike draws on more than two decades of hands-on experience to lead a team of 18 full-time employees and oversee the maintenance of 120 miles of roadway. Under his
leadership, the department manages its own paving and handles 14 snowplow routes during winter operations.

A strong believer in leadership, organization, and communication, Mike credits his staff for the department’s smooth day-to-day operations. He currently serves as Vice President of the Saratoga County Town Highway Superintendents Association, which proudly supports the Double H Camp for terminally ill children, raising $30,000 last year, a tradition that he and all of the Saratoga County Highway Superintendent, past and current are proud of.

A lifelong resident of Wilton, Mike and his wife Nicole have four children. Nicole has been by Mike’s side in every decision being a great support to him. He also operates a lawn care and excavation business and serves as an in-cab CDL instructor for BOCES. In his free time, Mike enjoys beekeeping and working with his family in their newly built shop.
