In 1999, Matt began his tenure with the town of Elmira as an EO2. In the summer of 2003, he was appointed as town superintendent of highways and stormwater officer. Matt manages 45 miles of roads in the town of Elmira.

Matt has been married to his wife Charlene for over 45 years. They have 2 sons; one works in the Town of Big Flats and the other retired from the United States Navy, as chief petty officer after 20 years of service, and is currently an office manager at school. Matt and Charlene have two beautiful granddaughters. Madison, 17, who is going to college in the fall, and Morgan, 14.

Matt’s hobbies include working on cars and spending time with his granddaughters.
