Jamie Dussing

1st Vice President

Town of Clarence, Erie County

Jamie is a fourth-generation resident of the town of Clarence in northern Erie County. He has been married to his wife Tracey for 25 years and has two sons: Patrick and Nathan.

He has worked for the Town of Clarence since 1992 when he was employed part-time in the parks department while in college.  Jamie took a full-time job “temporarily” in 1995 and never left.  He worked his way through the department and was appointed to deputy superintendent in 2013.

Jamie has been elected to superintendent of highways in November 2013, 2017 and 2021 and currently running for re-election in 2025. He is an active life member of The Clarence Fire Company where he has held many elected firematic and administrative positions during his last 25 plus years of service.   Jamie is also very involved in the community through the Clarence Presbyterian Church as well as various political and service organizations within Western New York.  Jamie is currently the 1st Vice President for NYSAOTSOH was formerly the secretary of the Town Highway Association of Erie County. Jamie believes the greatest reward of the job is being able to work with various community leaders, neighbors and friends to make Clarence a better place to live, work and raise a family.

Jamie is very hardworking and motivated to help other highway superintendents throughout the State of New York get the funding, education and tools that they need to improve themselves and their departments. The town of Clarence is one of the fastest growing communities in Western New York, growing to over 33,000 residents since the mid 1980’s. The Clarence Highway Department currently maintains 127 center lane miles of town roads and plows & de-ices 55 miles of roads for Erie County. The town of Clarence covers an area of 53 square miles and is situated 14 miles east of the city of Buffalo.
